I am writing, here, from Sachuest Point, the ocean song filling my ears. After standing at the edge of the shore, and allowing myself to be embraced by the water, I experienced a moment of time, collapsing – in that moment, all of those cold winter days released from my memory, allowing me to fully revel in the complete beauty and refreshment of the present.

While I had planned this day of the new moon to share a reflection I recently wrote – a reflection born from a question that has been pressing upon my heart – what feels true for me this morning is the importance of giving ourselves the space to be. I created this space to share from the heart – to share reflections of my own experiences on this path of Love, this journey of faith, this embodied walk with God. It is important to gift ourselves permission to simply be, as we are, and to release our attachment to control, the expectation of perfection, the pressure to perform.

How we show up for ourselves matters. So I choose, now, to lean into a place of receptivity, and to allow for the freedom of creation to flow. I choose flexibility and responsiveness, as I allow myself to be fully here, now, in this moment, embracing the raw, wild, and beautiful physicality of this human experience with gratitude, curiosity, and love. I choose to give myself permission to be, and I share this because we can only choose this for ourselves.

Just as these wisps of clouds above me are now filling with rainbow light like images blooming in newly developing film, fullness of presence – with patience – brings the gift of clarity.

I invite you to give yourself space, this day, to be open to the whispers of your heart. Release your plans, release your expectations, and embrace what is. Trust that this experience is for you – embrace it in the light of your awareness, and remain connected, all ways, to the beat of your heart, and to the breath that anchors you and connects you to an indivisible peace, within.

May Your Heart Be Light

The past does not exist -

unless you choose, today,

to repeat it.

Anchoring your Self with breath, turning,

greet the dawn that welcomes you;

invite space around the place on which

you rest your awareness,

and be fully present in your choice -

what is your intention?

Choose, today,

to align with truth,

to align with beauty,

to align with love,

to align with joy,

to align with peace,

and before you, the Universe will shift -

a kaleidoscope of color,

a humbling sense of gratitude,

an abiding strength of love will meet you

here, in this moment;

feel the rhythm of each birth,

as you are new, every beat of creation.

Set down, for this moment, any expectations,

and dance.

This space was born from a simple practice of quiet presence, bearing witness to the mystery and wonder of the Earth. Through this communion with nature, through relationship with the natural world, my mind opened to unspoken dialogues with the unseen, and my heart softened to receive deep nourishment in the form of love, beauty, inspiration, and wisdom.

As we meet here, now, at this threshold, I wish to first gently offer a blessing in honor of the Earth, our dear Earth Mother - for even now, in this moment, feeling the earth beneath my feet, and the earth of my physical body as One, I am grateful for this blessing to be.

As I breathe, I belong.

As we breathe, we belong.

Through this shared moment of presence, I pray that we may embrace this day with intention – to choose to weave with loving thoughts, words, and actions, and to receive the experiences of life, this day, with an open heart, light hands, and steady feet.

Before sharing the reflections that will follow, I will share a prayer that I wrote as a tribute to Pachamama, Earth Mother, whose generosity sustains all life, and whose presence continues to inspire and inform these reflections. May it serve as a blessing at the threshold of our journey.

Embracing Pachamama: A Tribute to Our Earth Mother

Our Dear Mother Earth.

Mother of the World, Mother of Time,

Earth Mother, Pachamama;

to you, our soul has journeyed

from you, we take form

from wave to particle, from Spirit to matter,

from the vast, eternal night of your Cosmic Womb –

earth, water, air, fire,

through ether, United;

from the ancient beat of your heart,

the mothers’ blood quickens;

we are all your children,

bearing the gift of Life, a sacred love.

Within the vastness of space, through the Milky Way,

from your womb, our life unfolds in this physical plane;

to us, Pachamama, you give of your body, freely –

for us, you generously provide all sustenance,

nourishing our growth in all ways;

under the tutelage of Mama Pacha, Mother Nature,

the sun, the moon, the stars, the plants, the trees, the animals,

the unseen dimensions of life, we rise.

You are our home, our safety, our refuge, our place of being,

our place of unity, our place of belonging, our place of wholeness;

through the mirror of your presence, we learn to recognize self –

through relationship with you, we live in, and with,

and through the Great Heart of Reality.

We thank you. We honor you. We love you. Pachamama.

There may have been moments of feeling separate through our forgetfulness,

yet, as we re-member, we embody your embrace, to live once more,

daily revived, soothed, strengthened and empowered

by your all-encompassing love, wondrous presence,

incomparable beauty, and awe-inspiring creative power;

may we cherish this waking dream,

feel gratitude for this human form –

to breathe in the air, to sense our feet upon the earth,

to know you are with us and within you, and you within each of us, always.

You know our very hearts.

Through your presence, you offer to us a loom

upon which we may weave our work of love this day;

You are one thousand faces of love, Divine;

meeting you each moment:

Grace, strength, hope, inspiration;

you hold all, all you sustain –

for you may we live;

may the way we live and love be an honor to you,

our beloved Pachamama.

May we remember that this Kaypacha is a realm fertile with potential,

ripe with opportunity to transform ideas, beliefs, actions,

and relationships through unconditional love;

May we allow love to be the epicenter of our thoughts, words and actions,

creating harmony in this realm;

in being this beacon of love, in offering our being as a harmonizing element this day,

we bring forward the energy of love, for you Pachamama.

May we thus dedicate the love we give to our self, each other,

and to the living Earth, this day,

embracing our sovereignty to choose love,

in service to seven generations.
